The name of this club shall be the Southeastern Idaho Krawlers.
Article II: Purpose
It shall be the purpose of this organization to promote the responsible use and preservation of roads and trails used in the sport of four-wheeling and to promote and encourage safety in the sport of four-wheeling that can be safely enjoyed by the whole family.
To share and explore backcountry trails and remote areas of Idaho and beyond.
A chance to learn "how-to advice" from experienced off-roaders in a safe and effective manner (including driving techniques, safe trail etiquette, safe vehicle recovery, and vehicle repairs).
To have fun as an organization and demonstrate responsible off-road activities.
Article III: Membership
Current Club Members
Own or have access to an off road capable vehicle for club events requiring one.
Attend a minimum of 6 regular meetings and a majority of club events to be eligible to hold an office in the club.
Current club members must be willing to be involved at some time during the year in the planning and execution of some type of club event.
Only full club members are eligible to display any type of club sticker or banner.
All Current Members and Prospective Members must be 18 years of age. This age requirement can be waived on an individual basis when the club agrees to on a majority 2/3’s vote.
Club Dues
Club dues are $20 a year and are due the first monthly meeting in January.
Prospective Members
Prospective members must attend two consecutive meetings and go on at least one trail run with the club in their own vehicle to be eligible for club membership. Within four months of this, the club member who is sponsoring this person will inform the club president that this person would like to be voted on to become a member of the club. The club president will then add it to the meeting agenda for discussion and voting.
Prospective members will need a 2/3’s majority vote to become a full club member.
Membership Behavior
As a public club we will need to watch our own behavior while on club functions and events. Disgracing the club under the following conditions can result in dismissal from the club.
Excessive use of alcoholic beverages or any usage of illegal drugs or substances while operating a motorized vehicle or while in attendance at any Club sponsored event. Excessive use of alcohol or any usage of illegal drugs or substances will not be tolerated at any Club sponsored event as this is a family oriented Club. If you have any questions on what is ok on alcohol use, refer to the Idaho law on alcohol.
Unsafe or dangerous usage of a motorized vehicle while participating in a Club sponsored event. Failure to stay with the group on Club runs and unnecessary driving off the designated trails will not be tolerated.
Shooting any type of firearm while on a club event. This is a 4x4 club, not a gun club.
Anything else that would make us embarrassed to be around you.
It is the responsibility of the Club Officers or the run leaders to notify any violators that their actions will not be tolerated and that they cease their actions and/or be asked to leave the Club function or event.
Article IV: Officers
The club currently has five officer positions
1. President
Duties will be to preside at all regular meetings, call for votes on business, respond to all inquiries from members, and appoint any special committees when needed.
2. Vice President
Duties will be to preside in the absence on the president, assume the position of the president in the event the president resigns from the club. To preside over any special committees where needed and to generally help out the president.
3. Secretary / Treasurer
The duties of the secretary/treasurer will be to publish minutes of the monthly meetings and to keep a record of current club members and contact information. They will also keep a current copy of all official documents for the club and hand them out when asked for. They will also collect and track membership fee’s and report every month on the current cash level and where the money is going if asked.
4. Safety/Tech Officers (Two Positions)
The Safety Officers will produce and maintain a safety checklist for vehicles including vehicle readiness and also personal safety equipment.
Article V: Officer Nominations and Elections
Nominations for Officer Positions shall be presented at the July meeting every year.
Nominations can be given from the floor during the July meeting during nomination discussion.
You can nominate another person and they must accept the nomination.
You can nominate yourself.
Elections will be held at the end of the August meeting.
Ballots will be handed out will the Officers position and the nominations for that position listed on the paper.
The secretary will collect the ballots and tally the results. They will then announce the new officers for the year.
Special elections in the event of an officer resignation.
Special elections can be held at any time during the year to fill an open officer spot. The open spot will be announced at the beginning of the meeting and nominations will be asked for at the end of the meeting. Voting via ballot will take place the following meeting.
Article VI: Meetings
The club will meet once a month on the second Friday of the month at 7pm.
The next club meeting location will be determined at each club meeting.
A 2/3’s majority of votes shall be required to pass all motions. The president may cast a vote in the event of a tie.
Special meetings of the club can be called by the president for special circumstances.
Each club member shall have one vote. You can abstain from voting if you so desire. The President will not vote unless needed as a tie breaker.
Article VII: Amendments to the Bylaws
These Bylaws may be amended at any regular meeting of the club by a 2/3’s majority of the active members present.
